Summer Roadie launched in Matakana as a Waitangi Day celebration of Aotearoa sound, bringing together some of New Zealand’s most respected artists across funk, soul, reggae, hip hop and drum and bass.
Set at The Stables in Matakana Country Park, the event marked a full-day journey through the music that has shaped generations, closing with a powerful late-night set from members of Shapeshifter via their side project, The Peacekeepers.
A boutique gathering with big sound, Summer Roadie captured the spirit of a Kiwi long weekend.
Future editions are under consideration.

Just down the road from surf beaches, wineries and Goat Island, The Stables sits at the heart of Matakana Country Park. Summer Roadie leaned into that setting, turning Waitangi Day into a long-weekend soundtrack. Music in the air, friends gathered close, and a festival that felt more like a getaway than a crowd.
