Legacy Fest: A Celebration of Kiwi Icons

Legacy Fest is a boutique, independently curated live music festival held at The Stables & Secret Garden in the heart of Matakana Country Park.

Capped at 1000 guests and produced by a local team, it brings together the artists who shaped Aotearoa’s soundtrack alongside the next generation carrying it forward. An open air summer gathering of iconic songs, quality hospitality and a crowd that values live music done properly. Intimate by design. Purpose built. Uniquely Matakana. Legacy Fest returns annually on Auckland Anniversary weekend. Follow us on social media for 2026 highlights, and the 2027 announcement.

A vineyard with a rustic building, outdoor seating, parking lot, and a horse jumping course, surrounded by trees and rolling hills under a partly cloudy sky.

Matakana’s most intimate open-air venue is green and intentionally boutique. Festival energy without the crowds. Expect great food, cold drinks and a garden setting that feels a world away from the city.

It’s live music the way it should be: relaxed and made for great memories.
